Royal Caribbean International has appointed Gerard Nolan as the new vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) following the departure of Ben Bouldin.

Nolan brings a wealth of experience from his years at Royal Caribbean Group, particularly in the Celebrity Cruises division, positioning him as a strategic leader for upcoming brand initiatives.

Gerard Nolan’s journey with Royal Caribbean began in 2006 when he joined the Celebrity Cruises division. Over the years, he has held a variety of senior management roles that have significantly influenced the brand’s operations. As the associate vice president, commercial at Celebrity Cruises, he successfully oversaw the EMEA region, contributing to the brand’s strategic objectives and supporting the Australia and Asia Pacific areas.

Nolan’s appointment comes at a crucial time as the cruise industry navigates post-pandemic challenges, emphasising strategic leadership to boost business growth and market penetration in the EMEA region.

In addition to Nolan’s appointment, the Asia-Pacific team is also undergoing leadership changes. Chad Grospe will transition from Miami to Singapore to oversee the Asia-Pacific operations as Vice President. Alongside, Josh Barrocas joins as Associate Vice President of International Strategy, bringing fresh insights into the brand’s global strategy.

The Utopia of the Seas exemplifies Royal Caribbean’s dedication to advancing sustainable practices and delivering exceptional guest experiences, aligning with contemporary expectations amongst cruise-goers worldwide.

Stephen emphasised the significance of these appointments in reinforcing the company’s global strategy during a transformative period for the cruise industry.

These strategic moves are anticipated to bolster Royal Caribbean’s position in the market, paving the way for future innovations and competitive advantages in the cruise industry.
