Havila Voyages’ Havila Pollux is embarking once more from Trondheim. The vessel is back on its coastal route following essential maintenance.

The ship underwent crucial motor refurbishment at Fosen Shipyard, aiming to enhance its performance and reliability.

Havila Voyages’ coastal cruise ship, Havila Pollux, is set to resume operations from Trondheim. This follows recent warranty work at the Fosen Shipyard which involved replacing an electric motor. The vessel’s journey was put on hold due to technical issues. However, swift action and collaboration between the shipyard and Havila Voyages have ensured its return to service.

Passengers affected by the disruptions last week were given options to transfer to other vessels or await the Pollux’s next trip from Bergen. Despite unexpected challenges, the coordination has underscored Havila Voyages’ commitment to maintaining their cruise schedules and customer satisfaction.

Recent data indicates that Havila Voyages has achieved significant CO2 emission reductions, marking a 37% decrease compared to traditional fossil fuel operations. These reductions highlight Havila’s investment in modern green technology tailored for sustainable shipping.

Havila’s CEO, Bent Martini, emphasised their forward-thinking approach. Their ships are not only advanced in design but optimised for minimal environmental impact. Moreover, the company plans to further diminish its carbon footprint by integrating biogas into its fuel strategy.

A major ambition for Havila Voyages is the reduction of food waste, with a target of 75 grams per person per day. This initiative is yielding results beyond expectations.

The introduction of this target reflects Havila Voyages’ dedication to sustainable practices, with an anticipated reduction of over 60 tonnes of waste annually. With all four ships now operational, the impact of these measures is expected to amplify.

In recent weeks, Havila Voyages experienced interruptions due to machinery overheating on the Havila Polaris. Such issues raised operational challenges affecting their schedule.

The company managed these difficulties by prioritising passenger safety and minimising disruption. They continue to address mechanical missteps swiftly, underscoring their commitment to reliability.

Havila Voyages values customer satisfaction and ensures it by offering alternatives and compensations during service disruptions. Affected travellers from the Pollux were provided with substitute travel options, safeguarding their cruise experience.

By taking proactive measures, Havila Voyages fortifies its brand and assures customers of its reliability, even amidst technical hitches and operational interruptions.

Feedback from passengers has been positive, acknowledging the company’s dedication to resolving issues promptly and maintaining service quality.

Looking ahead, Havila Voyages is focused on both operational excellence and environmental sustainability. With an ongoing commitment to modernisation and eco-friendly sailing, the company’s future appears promising.

Their strategic investments in green technology and infrastructure are pivotal in maintaining their competitive edge, as they aim to lead the cruise industry into a more sustainable future.

Havila Voyages is demonstrating resilience and forward-thinking in maritime operations. The efforts to modernise and sustain their fleet signify a commitment to service excellence and environmental responsibility.

As Havila Pollux sets sail again, it represents more than a return to service; it is a step towards sustainable cruising.
