Birmingham Airport has said that AnadoluJet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, will launch a new service to the popular leisure destinations of Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey from the Airport, starting July 19, 2021.

Commenting on the service, Tom Screen, Birmingham Airport’s Aviation Director, said: ‘As we prepare to welcome customers back flying again, we are extremely pleased that AnadoluJet will be offering new services to Antalya and Dalaman from the 19th July 2021. Working with its parent company, Turkish Airlines, over many years of flying to Istanbul from Birmingham, I know that customers will receive outstanding service, affordability and reliability with AnadoluJet.’

The flights will arrive into Birmingham daily at 1140 hours and depart at 1240 hours, using a 189 seat Boeing 737-800 jet. Bookings can be made via www.thy.com or www.anadolujet.com or through local travel agents.

Omer Faruk, Turkish Airlines’ General Manager, Birmingham, said: ‘We are delighted to announce that we are starting non-stop flights to Antalya and Dalaman with AnadoluJet, trademark of Turkish Airlines. Whether it’s couples looking for a romantic break, families setting sail on a summer holiday or friends looking for a week of fun in the sun, Antalya and Dalaman have something for everyone. We are looking forward to welcoming passengers onboard this summer.’

Separately, the UK Airport said that Blue Islands will operate flights to Jersey starting from April 26 following the Government of Jersey’s announcement concerning the relaxation of travel restrictions for UK visitors.

Rob Veron, CEO Blue Islands said, ‘Today’s announcement is incredibly exciting, this is the news we have all been waiting for and provides assurance for consumers who are eager to travel. The easing of travel restrictions and aligning with the UK Common Travel Area means that the beautiful island of Jersey is open and ready to safely welcome guests once again.

‘This will be an amazing opportunity to visit a beautiful and safe island, so close to home. Whether you are looking for a short break or a longer holiday, a trip to Jersey will feel a world away this summer. We are working closely with Visit Jersey to ensure that Jersey as a visitor destination will be more appealing than ever.’

Screen, Aviation Director of Birmingham Airport, added: ‘It is great to see the resumption of services from our airline partners. With easy access to Jersey with Blue Islands from the 26th April this means our customers can book with confidence with a reputable airline but also with the knowledge of the easing of travel restrictions to this Common Travel area. We look forward to welcoming back Blue Islands’ customers.’
