Ryanair, the Ireland-based low-fares airlines, has said that it will offer over 30 routes to/from the Bristol as part of its Summer 2020 schedule.

While Ryanair’s post-lockdown flights from Bristol airport resumed on June 23 with a Malaga service after the easing of travel restrictions by the UK Government, Bristol holidaymakers can now plan a summer getaway in Spain, Italy or Greece. In addition to flights to destinations such as Valencia and Ibiza, Ryanair is launching a new twice weekly Bristol route to and from Vienna. The Bristol Summer 2020 schedule is available for sale until the end of October.

Ryanair’s Eimear Ryan said: ‘We’re pleased to announce Ryanair is offering over 30 routes to/from the Bristol as part of our Summer 2020 schedule. A Malaga service marked one of the first of Ryanair’s post-lockdown flights from Bristol airport on 23rd June and our full Bristol Summer 2020 schedule now includes over 30 routes to leisure & business destinations across Europe, including summer favourites in Spain, Italy or Greece.

‘Following the lifting of travel restrictions, Bristol holidaymakers can now look forward to planning a well-deserved summer getaway on the lowest fares and with the new health measures that Ryanair has rolled out to protect the health and well-being of its people as it ramps up operations this summer.’

Dave Lees, CEO, Bristol Airport said: ‘We welcome today’s news of 30 Ryanair routes being available from Bristol Airport this summer and the new destination of Vienna being added to the route network. The range of routes available offers customers from the South West and Wales region a choice and flexibility of destinations using their local airport. We continue to partner with Ryanair to look at future route opportunities.

‘We continue to work on the latest government guidance available to keep our customers and colleagues safe whilst providing these vital air links. We have introduced ‘Safe journeys start here’ a three-step plan: Get ready > Stay safe > Let’s travel to reassure customers of the actions we have taken at the Airport. The measures include enhanced cleaning procedures, social-distancing policies, one-way queuing systems, hand sanitiser locations, contactless payment facilities, customer awareness signage, protective screens for customer interaction points and staff wearing face coverings in all key customer contact points as safety is our key priority.’

Ryanair has also announced a new route from the United Kingdom to Poland, commencing October 27 as part of its winter 2020 schedule. The new route will operate twice weekly from Manchester Airport to Poznan.

Separately, Ryanair said that it would cut its Ireland-UK schedules for the months of August and September by up to 1,000 flights, as Ireland maintains a quarantine restriction on EU visitors even as the UK and Northern Ireland last week opened up air links to most EU countries.
