The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced the addition of P&O Cruises’ Britannia to its annual conference in May, opening more agent spaces.

Initially sold out in 48 hours, this expansion reflects the conference’s growing significance within the cruise industry.

    Expanded Opportunities for Agents

The CLIA conference, scheduled to occur this May in Southampton, is set to offer more opportunities for travel agents following the addition of P&O Cruises’ Britannia to the ship line-up. Initially, the conference was fully booked in a record-breaking 48 hours with six ships planned, including prestigious names like Cunard’s Queen Anne and Silversea’s Silver Dawn.

With Britannia now part of the event, additional spaces have opened, granting more agents the chance to join this significant industry occasion. Andy Harmer, managing director for CLIA UK & Ireland, expressed gratitude to P&O Cruises for their contribution, highlighting the enhanced experiences available to attendees. He emphasised the importance of such opportunities for agents to explore a diverse range of onboard options, enriching their ability to sell cruises effectively.

    Record Attendance Anticipated

This year’s conference is anticipated to be the largest in CLIA history, expecting around 850 delegates. The enthusiastic response underscores the conference’s importance within the cruise industry, providing a platform for agents to network with operators from all sectors.

The conference presents a unique opportunity to engage with key industry players and gain insights into the latest trends and developments. This extensive interaction is invaluable for agents looking to enhance their industry knowledge and better serve their clients.

    An Industry on the Rise

The cruise industry has enjoyed a robust start to the year, characterised by positive momentum that the CLIA conference aims to continue. As the industry rebounds, the conference serves as both a celebration of success and a forum for future growth initiatives.

P&O Cruises’ addition of the Britannia exemplifies the industry’s confidence and expansion. This inclusion not only provides more capacity but also showcases the breadth of experiences available within the cruise sector, from luxury to mainstream offerings.

    Comprehensive Learning Experiences

Attendees will have access to a wealth of learning experiences, furthering their expertise in cruise offerings. The event’s agenda is packed with sessions aimed at educating agents on various aspects of the cruise market, equipping them with the knowledge to better market and sell cruise holidays.

These learning opportunities are tailored to address the challenges agents face in the current market, focusing on equipping them with practical strategies. The insights gained will enable agents to meet consumer expectations and demands effectively.

    Strategic Partnerships and Network Building

The CLIA conference is not just about learning; it’s about building strategic partnerships. Delegates have the chance to engage with industry leaders, fostering relationships that can lead to fruitful collaborations.

Networking sessions are designed to maximise interaction between agents and cruise operators, nurturing a cooperative environment that benefits all parties involved. These connections are pivotal for agents seeking to expand their market reach and enhance service offerings.

    Expanding Cruise Horizons

With a rich line-up of ships, including the newly added Britannia, delegates can experience firsthand the diversity of cruise offerings. This exposure is crucial for agents aiming to provide comprehensive advice to clients on cruise options ranging from extravagant luxury cruises to family-friendly voyages.

The variety of ships present at the conference exemplifies the vast array of experiences available in the cruise market, enabling agents to tailor recommendations to specific client needs and preferences. This dynamic range is a selling point that agents can leverage.
