    The Latin American Travel Association (Lata) held its annual meeting at the House of Commons, acknowledging stellar contributions in the travel industry. Their focus was not only on past achievements but also on paving new paths towards inclusivity and cultural exchange.

    Chris Pickard and Cecilia Pardo-Grau were honoured for their remarkable work, cementing their legacies within the sector. The event also spotlighted Lata’s partnerships and future initiatives aimed at promoting equality and diversity.

    The Latin American Travel Association (Lata) hosted its annual parliamentary reception at the House of Commons, honouring exceptional contributions to Latin American travel. Among the distinguished were Chris Pickard, who was inducted into the Lata Hall of Fame. His outstanding service, including serving as chair and deputy chair, underscores his commitment to the travel sector.

    Cecilia Pardo-Grau, renowned curator of the British Museum, was recognised with the Lata Special Recognition Award. Her work has significantly promoted the cultural and historical importance of Peru in the UK. Her efforts with the “Peru. A Journey in Time” exhibition helped attract tens of thousands of visitors, underlining her impact on cultural exchange.

In collaboration with Promperu, Cecilia Pardo-Grau curated the Peru and the Andes section at the British Museum, placing a spotlight on the region’s rich history.     Martin Johnson, Lata’s chairman, highlighted the value of these cultural exchanges, stating, “It was great to bring everyone together again to celebrate the individuals that are significant advocates of Latin America.” His comments reflect Lata’s commitment to fostering international relationships.
