The Travel Corporation (TTC) announces a significant leadership change as Gavin Tollman plans to step down following the company’s acquisition by Apollo Funds.

Melissa DaSilva has been appointed as the interim chief executive officer of TTC Tour Brands, a role she will assume immediately.

Gavin Tollman will depart The Travel Corporation following the completion of the sale to Apollo Funds. This marks the end of an era for the company as Tollman has been an instrumental figure since the inception of TTC Tour Brands. He will assist Melissa DaSilva during the transition period to ensure a smooth handover.

Melissa DaSilva, formerly president of TTC Tour Brands North America, steps into the role of interim CEO. She brings over 30 years of experience in the travel industry, providing her with a deep understanding of the business’s complexities and potential. Her immediate focus will be on managing TTC Tour Brands’ portfolio and its six leading travel brands.

DaSilva commented on her appointment, expressing excitement and honour at leading TTC through this period. She emphasised the immense opportunities ahead and her commitment to a seamless transition. Her role includes searching for her successor as president of North America.

The acquisition underscores a significant shift in TTC’s operational structure. It promises to drive growth by leveraging Apollo’s substantial resources and expertise in managing global entities.

DaSilva’s experience will be crucial in navigating the complexities of the acquisition. Her leadership aims to build on the established foundation and drive the brand towards further success.

DaSilva’s leadership will prioritise sustaining current market strengths while exploring new opportunities. This focus aligns with Apollo’s goals of expanding global presence and enhancing brand capabilities.

As The Travel Corporation embarks on this new chapter, strong leadership will be pivotal in navigating the evolving landscape of the travel industry.

With a firm strategic vision and an emphasis on seamless transition, Melissa DaSilva’s leadership is anticipated to lead the company towards sustained success.
