    Communications Specialist Debbie Hindle Joins as Director

    Debbie Hindle, a seasoned figure in travel communications, has been appointed as a non-executive director at Responsible Travel.

    Travel communications expert Debbie Hindle has joined Responsible Travel as a non-executive director, marking a significant addition to the company. The appointment coincides with a leadership shift at the activist holiday firm, as founder Justin Francis assumes the role of executive chair. Hindle’s extensive background includes her role as chief executive at Four Communications where she led travel initiatives. Her appointment aligns with Responsible Travel’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, reinforcing its strategy towards long-term growth.

    Debbie Hindle describes Responsible Travel as a ‘pioneer’, praising its dedication to challenging norms and pursuing tourism that benefits communities, reduces environmental impact, and fosters nature conservation. Her admiration roots in the company’s ethos of questioning and self-challenge in its sustainable agenda.

    Having previously helped launch the business two decades ago, Hindle remains a ‘staunch supporter’ as expressed by founder Justin Francis. Her history with Responsible Travel positions her uniquely to contribute valuable strategic insights. Hindle remains engaged with various purposeful initiatives, such as volunteering with Working With Cancer and advising the Inclusive Travel Forum.

    Earlier in the year, Hindle shifted her focus from Four Communications to roles that align with her purpose-driven values. The announcement of her new role was closely followed by the appointment of Richard Skinner and Tim Williamson as joint managing directors, overseeing operations at Responsible Travel.

Currently, Responsible Travel features nearly 900 holidays with these carbon-conscious labels, out of almost 6,000 global tours.

    Debbie Hindle’s strategic involvement is poised to boost Responsible Travel’s mission towards responsible tourism.
