Kuoni Travel reports show a significant trend towards value for money in the luxury travel market, with customers prioritising immersive experiences and unique destinations.

    • Bookings have surged for destinations like Thailand, South Africa, and India, indicating these locations’ growing appeal in 2024.
    • Emerging travel hotspots such as Mauritius, Namibia, and Grenada are gaining traction for their unique offerings and cost-effective luxury options.
    • Kuoni’s strategy focuses on expanding its product range and competitive pricing to meet diverse customer demands.
    • The prioritisation of travel in consumer budgets reflects a robust start to the year with anticipated continued demand.

Kuoni Travel’s recent reports highlight a substantial shift towards seeking value for money within the luxury travel sector. This shift is evident even among premium travellers, as clients express a clear interest in obtaining immersive experiences that transcend typical tourist paths.

Bookings to key destinations like Thailand, South Africa, and India have increased significantly compared to the previous year, suggesting a renewed interest in these culturally rich locations. The uptick in demand for these places is matched by Kuoni’s observation of a broader trend towards experiential travel.

Notably, destinations such as Mauritius, Namibia, and Grenada are attracting interest for their distinctive offerings. Mauritius, in particular, stands out in the Indian Ocean for its luxurious yet competitively priced vacation options. Further, places like Namibia, often overshadowed by more prominent African safari points, are now being recognised for their unique appeal and value.

Kuoni is proactively expanding its range and honing its commercial approach to remain competitive on both price and service. According to Marco Rocha, the company’s Product and Commercial Director, the organisation anticipated the importance of cost-effectiveness across diverse customer segments, whether families, honeymooners, singles, or older couples.

Kuoni’s data-driven insights reveal a strong desire for cost-effective yet luxurious travel options, with continued growth anticipated as 2024 unfolds.
