Royal Caribbean International is investing over $100 million in a comprehensive revamp of Allure of the Seas, setting sail in the Mediterranean from April 2025.

    • The refurbishment follows the 2019 makeover of its sister ship, Oasis of the Seas, and marks Allure as the latest in the Oasis-class to be transformed.
    • Allure of the Seas will operate seven-night itineraries from Barcelona, visiting destinations like Marseille, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, and Palma.
    • Key features of the refurbishment include new panoramic suites, a redesigned pool deck, waterslides, and new dining and entertainment options.
    • This ambitious project aims to deliver unparalleled experiences, combining relaxation and adventure, in line with Royal Caribbean’s reputation for innovation.

Royal Caribbean International has embarked on a bold journey to rejuvenate its cruise offerings by investing over $100 million into the transformation of Allure of the Seas. This major refurbishment is slated to enhance the vessel, commencing its summer 2025 Mediterranean voyages with a fresh new look. The extensive revamp will allow the ship to continue catering to both new and experienced travellers, sustaining the momentum from its sister ship, Oasis of the Seas, which underwent similar upgrades in 2019.

Allure of the Seas is scheduled to embark on seven-night cruises from the vibrant city of Barcelona, making stops at some of the Mediterranean’s most iconic locations. These include Marseille, known for its rich history and culture; La Spezia, the gateway to Florence and Pisa; Civitavecchia, offering excursions to Rome; and the beautiful island of Palma in Majorca. This range of destinations ensures that passengers enjoy diverse experiences during their trip.

The refurbishment aims to raise the bar in cruise travel by introducing a variety of new features and amenities. Passengers can look forward to newly designed panoramic suites situated above the ship’s bridge, providing stunning views at sea. The pool deck will also get a new lease of life with thrilling racing waterslides and a Caribbean tiki bar for refreshment and relaxation. In addition, diners will have more culinary choices with the introduction of a sports bar and a southern US-style restaurant.

Entertainment and activities on board are set for a notable upgrade. The ship will now include an escape room for problem-solvers and a laser tag zone for those seeking action-packed fun. Jay Schneider, the chief product innovation officer at Royal Caribbean, remarked that these innovations are part of the company’s commitment to enhance the ways vacationers can create memorable experiences. “Allure will be reimagined with the best of Royal Caribbean and what travellers love,” Schneider added.

This refurbishment is a testament to Royal Caribbean’s commitment to delivering exceptional and memorable cruise experiences.
