Jet2 announces new routes and expanded capacity for 2018-19 winter programme

Travel and holiday company Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced the flights and holidays programme for winter 2018-19, with the addition of 10 brand new routes.

On sale for travel in winter 2018-19, Jet2 is offering over 3.5 million seats to 39 winter sun, city and ski destinations. The schedule includes the first ever winter services to Antalya, with services operating from six bases – Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and London Stansted; the first ever winter programme to Madeira from Belfast International; new winter flights to Nice and Larnaca from London Stansted and new winter flights to Rome from Newcastle.

With the introduction of a number of new routes, more flights and extended seasons, the company is looking for a five percent capacity increase on this winter.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: ‘The announcement of our biggest ever winter programme shows the confidence that we have in our award-winning airline and package holiday offering. We have more seats and holidays than ever to a range of fantastic sun, city and ski destinations, meaning that our Winter 18/19 programme has something for everyone. With Britons continuing to look to get away on their well-deserved holidays, particularly during the long British winter, we are stepping in to meet that demand by putting on more seats to provide more choice and flexibility than ever.’

Jet2’s winter 2018-19 programme includes over 1.2 million seats to the Canary Islands alone. Besides the additional flights and extended programmes to the winter sun destinations of Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, the company has also increased capacity to other sun destinations including Cyprus (Larnaca and Paphos), Faro and Madeira. The company will also continue to operate several weekly services from various UK bases to some of the most sought after destinations such as Alicante, Malaga and Majorca, Jet2 said.

In addition to winter sun destinations, the company will operate over 60,000 additional seats to city break destinations. Jet2CityBreaks will have a 12 percent increase in capacity to city destinations such as Budapest, Prague, Rome, Vienna as well as Krakow and Nice. Further, Jet2 will also operate its ski programme, with more ski flights to seven destinations including Grenoble, Turin and Salzburg, as well as frequent services to Barcelona (Andorra), Geneva, Lyon, and Verona.

The 2017-18 winter flights and package holidays may be booked at www.jet2.com or www.jet2holidays.com, the company said.
