Celestyal Cruises is set to invigorate its fleet with the addition of a new vessel, the Celestyal Discovery. This strategic move signals the company’s commitment to growth and enhanced customer experiences.

As part of the recent acquisitions, Celestyal Discovery will undergo extensive refurbishments in Athens, aligning with the company’s vision for modernised and competitive cruise offerings.

Celestyal Cruises announced the addition of the Celestyal Discovery, a mid-sized ship originally built for Carnival Corporation in 2003. This acquisition marks the second vessel purchase for the company in 2023, following the Celestyal Journey.

The Discovery, previously under the AIDA Cruise brand, boasts 633 staterooms, including 62 balcony rooms, offering a capacity for 1,266 guests. This move is part of a multimillion-euro investment into fleet modernisation, expected to appeal to a broader market.

Both Celestyal Discovery and its fleet mate Celestyal Journey are slated for significant winter refurbishments in Athens. These upgrades are aimed at enhancing onboard amenities and passenger comfort.

The refurbishments will see the addition of state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring the vessels are well-equipped for the upcoming cruise season starting March 2024.

The newly acquired Celestyal Discovery will feature innovative facilities, including an amphitheatre with conference capabilities.

The ship will also house the Grillseekers speciality restaurant, fitness and wellness zones, and exclusive dining and relaxation areas. These additions are designed to elevate the customer experience.

Celestyal is promoting the Discovery through its largest-ever Wave campaign, which coincides with Black Friday offers starting 11 December 2023.

Customers previously booked on Celestyal Olympia will be accommodated on the refurbished Discovery, which is poised to captivate new audiences with its modern amenities.

According to CEO Chris Theophilides, the expansion reflects strong market conditions and the company’s strategic direction to bolster its brand presence.

Theophilides highlighted the Discovery’s role in Celestyal’s fleet renewal, underscoring a commitment to customer satisfaction and industry leadership.

The introduction of Celestyal Discovery seeks to increase customer engagement by offering diverse and enhanced cruise options.

With its refurbished fleet, Celestyal aims to solidify its position as a competitive player in the cruise industry.

Celestyal’s efforts to modernise its fleet and broaden its market reach indicate a promising future for the company.

As the Discovery begins its journey, the enhanced fleet is expected to draw positive attention and elevate passenger experiences.

Celestyal Cruises’ acquisition and refurbishment of the Celestyal Discovery signals a robust strategy to expand its market share and enhance service offerings.

The company’s commitment to fleet modernisation and customer satisfaction positions it well for future industry challenges and opportunities.
