Royal Caribbean International has announced key leadership appointments within its UK and Ireland operations, highlighting the strategic significance of this market. The company’s long-standing commitment to nurturing internal talent is exemplified through these appointments.

    Aaron Langford’s New Role

Royal Caribbean International has announced the appointment of Aaron Langford as the new Sales Director for the UK and Ireland. This marks a significant return for Langford, who has extensive experience within the company, having previously been based in the revenue management team at the UK headquarters from 2008 to 2019.

Langford’s transition back to the UK occurs after a successful stint at Royal Caribbean’s Miami headquarters, where he held a centralised revenue management role starting in 2020. This new role sees him returning to the UK, allowing him to rejoin the leadership team to strengthen trade partnerships and lead a dynamic sales team.

His career with the Royal Caribbean Group is distinguished by roles with both Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International. Additionally, he was involved in a significant secondment at the company’s Shanghai office during the company’s expansion into the Chinese market.

    Nicki Lewis Steps Up

As part of broader organisational changes, Nicki Lewis has been promoted to Sales Enablement Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). She previously served as the Sales Enablement Manager for the same regions and has made substantial contributions overseeing trade marketing functions and maintaining relationships across various territories.

Lewis’s promotion is part of a concerted effort by Royal Caribbean to elevate internal talent, recognising her dedication and contributions to the company over the past 30 years. Her role will see her continuing to lead the UK sales function until Langford assumes his post in June.

Strategic Significance of the UK&I Market

The UK and Ireland markets are of strategic importance to Royal Caribbean International. Langford’s appointment as Sales Director in this region underscores the company’s intent to cement its position and expand its influence further.

According to Langford, the UK and Ireland are pivotal for future growth. He emphasised the importance of enhancing relationships with existing trade partners and exploring opportunities to attract new guests.

His vision for the UK sales team involves leveraging these relationships to introduce the innovative offerings of Royal Caribbean to a broader audience, showcasing the company’s commitment to delivering unparalleled cruise experiences.

    Testimonies from Leadership

The leadership at Royal Caribbean has been vocal in their support for both Langford and Lewis. Their appointments are seen as integral to the company’s strategic objectives, enabling continued innovation and growth.

According to Ben Bouldin, Langford’s experience and past contributions make him an ideal candidate to lead the UK sales team. He noted Langford’s return to the UK as a significant step in strengthening the company’s presence in the region.

Langford expressed his gratitude and excitement over returning to a market he considers pivotal for Royal Caribbean’s success. He looks forward to collaborating with the sales team and trade partners to realise his vision for growth and expansion.
