    AmaWaterways Launches Incentive Programme with Travel Agent Rewards

    AmaWaterways has unveiled a captivating incentive programme for travel agents, running from January 18 to February 22. This initiative aims to reward agent partners for their outstanding contribution to the company’s success, featuring weekly prize draws focused on unique themes that highlight the cruise line’s offerings.

    Incentive Programme Overview

    AmaWaterways is introducing a six-week incentive programme for travel agents, commencing on January 18. This initiative, concluding on February 22, is tailored to reward agents through a series of weekly prize draws. Each draw will be based on a distinct theme that reflects the cruise line’s unique selling points, such as wellbeing, cuisine, and various destinations. The programme is designed not only to incentivise but also to educate agents on these themes.

    Jamie Loizou, the UK and Ireland managing director of AmaWaterways, emphasised the importance of this initiative by expressing the company’s gratitude towards their travel partners. He stated, “Working with the trade is our sole focus; they are our extended sales and marketing arm, and we want to say a big thank you to all our travel agent partners for supporting us.”

    Weekly Themed Prizes

    Every week, a member of the AmaWaterways team will present on a Travel Weekly Facebook video to discuss the theme of the week. This interactive approach also includes posing a question to agents. In response, agents can log onto the Travel Weekly website, submit their answers, and enter the prize draw.

    Prizes reflect the weekly theme and include items like a hybrid bike, a Nespresso machine, and a wine-tasting experience. Besides these delightful incentives, agents will have the opportunity to win bigger rewards, such as a seven-night European cruise for two, enhancing the appeal of the programme.

    Integration with AmaWaterways’ Campaigns

    Running concurrently with the incentive programme is AmaWaterways’ wave campaign. This promotional campaign offers additional benefits for bookings made by March 31, 2024. These benefits include free flights, overseas transfers, and savings of up to £1,500 per couple on select cruises for 2024 and 2025.

    The synergy between the incentive programme and the wave campaign is intended to maximise value for travel agents, fostering increased engagement and participation. Such integration showcases AmaWaterways’ strategic efforts to leverage agent relationships in boosting sales and expanding their market footprint.

    Recognising Agent Contributions

    The incentive programme serves as a recognition of the exceptional performance by UK travel agencies in 2023. AmaWaterways reported a significant 78% year-on-year increase in agency bookings. This impressive growth trajectory is complemented by the highest commission payments to agents in the company’s history.

    “Our agents’ success is our success,” remarked Loizou, underlining the pivotal role agents play in the cruise line’s business strategy. AmaWaterways’ commitment to fostering closer ties with their agents exemplifies their dedication to mutual growth and success.

    Travel agents participating in the programme are essential to its success. The programme design encourages active engagement by involving agents in informative sessions and interactive challenges. This approach not only rewards but also builds a community of informed and motivated partners.

    Moreover, by aligning incentives with educational elements, AmaWaterways ensures that agents are well-equipped to promote the cruise line’s unique features effectively to potential travellers, thereby driving more targeted sales and enhancing brand visibility.
