In May 2025, Malta will once again be in the spotlight as it hosts the Advantage Travel Partnership’s annual industry conference.

This event, organised with the collaboration of Visit Malta, is set to bring together travel industry leaders to discuss emerging trends and explore Malta’s renowned historical and cultural sites.

    Destination of Exceptional Appeal

The Advantage Travel Partnership has confirmed Malta as the host of its annual industry conference in May 2025, in collaboration with Visit Malta. Malta was chosen due to its unique blend of historical and cultural attractions, alongside its commitment to sustainability and innovation. Participants can anticipate a detailed exploration of the island’s offerings, highlighted by Malta’s significant number of UNESCO World Heritage sites, which presents both a rich historical tapestry and modern advancements in tourism infrastructure.

    Strategic Planning and Development

Julia Lo Bue-Said, the chief executive of the Advantage Travel Partnership, commented on the significance of returning to Malta. “We last visited Malta in 2012 and are thrilled to be returning to a destination that has continued to see a great deal of investment and advancement in the last 10 years,” she stated. The conference aims to delve into the evolving landscape of the travel industry, with a focus on how Malta’s strategic developments offer opportunities for future growth and collaboration.

    Sustainability at the Forefront

There is a strong emphasis on sustainability and ‘giving back’ in the upcoming event. Delegates will be encouraged to engage in activities that highlight Malta’s efforts in promoting environmental consciousness. The conference will integrate philanthropic initiatives that aim to create a positive societal impact, resonating with the participants’ desire to contribute meaningfully to the host nation.

From exploring historical sites to participating in community-led initiatives, the event aims to connect attendees with the heart of Malta’s social and cultural fabric. These engagements are designed to offer both leisure and business travellers a comprehensive understanding of what Malta has to offer.

    Strengthening Connectivity

With flights to Malta available from 14 regional airports across the UK, the conference encourages attendance by showcasing Malta as an accessible destination. Tolene van der Merwe, the UK and Ireland director at Visit Malta, noted, “With flights available from 14 regional airports in the UK, we hope this makes Malta an attractive destination to visit for the conference.” This accessibility is an advantage that further reinforces Malta’s appeal as a prominent venue for international events.

    Collaborative Partnerships

The collaboration between the Advantage Travel Partnership and Visit Malta reflects a shared vision of growth and innovation in the travel sector. The conference is expected to spark dialogue and new partnerships, facilitating the exchange of ideas and experiences among industry leaders. These collaborations are poised to enhance Malta’s reputation as a leading destination for business and leisure conferencing.

This forthcoming event is anticipated to be a landmark moment for the travel industry, representing a convergence of minds aiming to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities within the field.
